Another lay day has been called for the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach due to poor swells.
Organisers predict good conditions are on the horizon and expect he competition to get underway later in the week.
Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, said: "The swell hasn't quite hit yet and the conditions today are a bit sub-par. Our swell forecasters are calling for a solid pulse to be hitting possibly Friday and through the weekend, so we'll be looking to get our surfers out in the best possible conditions."
Bells Beach is renowned for its excellent surfing conditions but the competition has yet to see them.
In the Rip Curl Women's Pro the first round is being eagerly anticipated as current ASP World Champion Stephanie Gilmore faces up against Jacqueline Silva and Alana Blanchard.
WCT rookie Karina Petroni faces a daunting first round draw, surfing against Jessi Miley-Dyer and Sofia Mulanovich.
Gilmore became the first rookie in the history of the WCT tour to win the title last year.
