The Monster Energy Pipeline Pro was again called off for the day after poor surfing conditions were mixed with lightning storms and a flood watch.
Despite the stormy conditions currently hitting Hawaii swells are still not big enough for the competition to get back underway.
Around half of the round of 64 has been surfed meaning organisers are now predicting just over one day of action is needed to complete the tournament, which is a three star World Qualifying Series event.
Organisers are also o resigned to extending the holding period for the contest in order to ensure it is completed. The event is one of only two held on the famous Banzai Pipeline in Hawaii.
The island has been seeing extreme conditions over the last few days with over two feet of rain falling in the last 72 hours. The National Weather Service in Hawaii has issued a "high alert status" for Hilo, which is the state's second largest city.
