Thurso East, in Scotland, has been confirmed as a location on this year's ASP World Qualifying Series.
The week long event will begin on April 23rd and has been given six-star status and will have a prize pot of $135,000 (£67,500).
Russell Winter is set to be the main British hope at the event and Nathan Hedge, the Australian who won the competition last year, is expected to defend his title.
Should conditions at Thurso not be ideal for surfing the contest can switch to other venues such as Brims Ness, Strathy and Murkle.
The O'Neill Highland Open's contest window is open until April 1st and is supported by EventScotland.
Later on in the year the WQS tour will return to Britain for the Rip Curl Board masters, which is held at Fistral Beach in Newquay. The event will only be a five-star competition but will offer a prize purse of $110,000 (£55,000).
