The Surfrider Foundation Oahu Chapter and 20 other organisations are joining together to protest about the decrease in public beach access across Hawaii.
Rallies are being held by the organisations on February 2nd in multiple locations on the island at the same time.
Co-founder of one of the groups involved, Beach Access Hawaii, Rich Figel, said: "It's like the Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day. We keep reliving the same problems over and over when it comes to beach access issues."
He added: "At present, on Oahu we only have 86 public rights of way for over a hundred miles of coastline."
The protest event will start with a press conference in front of the State Capitol Building and will then ride the Beach Access Trolley to rally spots on East Oahu.
Currently underway in Hawaii is the Monster Energy Pipe Pro which is a three star event.
