An area in New South Wales is to become Australia's largest surfing spot, News.com.au reports.
The stretch of coastline is located near Lennox Head and includes 400 hectares, lands minister Tony Kelly announced.
It extends for 7.5 kilometres and could be ideal for adventurous surfers looking to explore new waves in a beautiful setting.
Mr Kelly said that as the whole of Lennox was known for its "surfing legends and folklore", the move to create the surfing reserve would protect the area for the future.
He added that surfing spots like Lennox were very valuable to Australians and likened them to the Sydney Opera House and Uluru - also known as Ayers Rock.
No actual laws are created or legislation passed as part of the spot being made a national surfing reserve, although it will join three other areas down under which have previously been given this title.
