French surfer Jeremy Flores has revealed that he is feeling less pressure than last year, despite entering this year's ASP World Championship Tour (WCT) as the 2007 Rookie of the Year.
The 19-year-old is currently in third position in the WCT rankings after reaching the semi-finals of the Quiksilver Pro last month.
"I had less pressure than last year and felt very relaxed and confident. Compared to last year at the same moment, I felt like I knew how to deal with things and it was definitely easier for me," Flores told ASPeurope.com.
He added that it was good to be able to hang with the three other Europeans on the WCT tour this year and they all know each other so well it is a "great feeling" to have such "close support".
Flores is already at Bell's Beach in Australia getting some practice in ahead of the next WCT event which is held there.
The Rip Curl Pro will go off at Bells Beach in Victoria on March 18th.
