Hawaiian surfer Bethany Hamilton is to make her Margaret River debut in April during the Drug Aware Pro Margaret River presented by O'Neill.
The 18-year-old surfer, who lost her arm in a shark attack in 2003, will be among 250 male and female professionals taking part in the event.
Hamilton said that she was looking forward to the competition and continuing her good start to the season which has seen her rise to third in the WQS rankings.
"Margaret River will be an important comp for me and I really hope to do well there," she commented.
Suggesting that the area looks a "beautiful place", the rising star said that her family would be accompanying her to Australia on a "family vacation".
Ahead of the event at Margaret River, the WQS tour takes in Soldiers Beach in New South Wales, Huntington Beach, California, and Merewether, Newcastle in New South Wales.
