ASP World Junior Championships winner Sally Fitzgibbons has built on her recent success by taking out the Ozmosis Nova Pro Junior event at Gunnamatta.
Fitzgibbons seemed to cruise to a win in the final against Kirby Wright to clinch victory in the ASP Australasian Pro Junior competition.
"I found it hard to find a decent high scoring ride early in the final and I was quite worried at the half way point but then when the better waves came to me I new I had to surf them well because time was running out – fortunately it worked out well for me," Fitzgibbons told Surfing Australia.
Lori Kelly and Paige Hareb finished equal third in the event and all the competitors will now make their way to the ASP World Qualifying Tour event at Phillip Island - the Roxy Surf Festival.
Excellent waves have been predicted for the Roxy Surf Festival, although the event was delayed today due to inconsistent surf.
