The Roxy Surf Festival was dominated by the junior surfers on day three of the event, despite the seeded surfers entering the fray.
Under-18 Australian Surfing Champion Laura Enever was one of the younger surfers who impressed the most, scoring the highest heat total of the day with 17.35 out of possible 20.
"At first I couldn't decide where to paddle out but eventually decided on the spot I'd been free surfing. It's the best decision I've made in a while. Earning those scores has given me so much confidence, I'm just so happy I got through and was able to show everyone how good I can surf out there," Enever told Global Surf News.
The top seed Samantha Cornish progressed from round three with a heat score of 17.35 and Paige Hareb also progressed with a solid 13.25.
Just 16, Laura Enever was born in North Narrabeen, Sydney and beat Sally Fitzgibbons in her heat. Fitzgibbons had previously knocked her out of the ASP World Junior Championships at the semi-final stage.
