The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) contest guru has heaped praise on 17 year old Sally Fitzgibbons saying she is set for stardom but is not the same as current ASP world champion Stephanie Gilmore.
Fitzgibbons has taken the surfing world by storm by winning the World Junior championships last month before taking out the Roxy Surf Festival last week.
Ste "Robo" Robertson of the ASP told goldcoast.com has denied that she is the same as Stephanie Gilmore, saying: "I reckon she [Sally] is the real deal, but they are not the same. Steph was the most naturally gifted surfer I have ever seen, male or female."
He added that Fitzgibbons on the other hand is a great surfer but it has not "come as naturally to her as it did to Steph".
With Fitzgibbons being given a wildcard into the trials for the Roxy Pro next month, there is a chance that the two will meet each other out on the surf sooner rather than later.
Gilmore became the first surfer in history to win the ASP World Championship Tour in their debut season with her victory last year.
